AIG Zone 2 Decorates Newly Promoted DCPs, Calls for Commitment to Excellence

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, on Thursday decorated three newly promoted Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos.

The decorated officers include DCP Usman Abdulrahman, former Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at Zone 2 Command Headquarters; DCP Baba M. Alhaji, former Area Commander of Agbara, Ogun State; and DCP Lawrence Iwodi, former Area Commander of Ayetoro, Ogun State.

Speaking during the ceremony, AIG Fayoade congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions and charged them to uphold the highest levels of professionalism in their new roles. He emphasized the need for them to demonstrate proactivity, pragmatism, and effective leadership, particularly in supervising their subordinates. The AIG highlighted that the new rank comes with greater responsibilities and urged the officers to justify the trust reposed in them by the Police Service Commission and the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

"This promotion is not just a reward for hard work but a call to greater service," Fayoade said. "As leaders, you must remain steadfast, committed, and consistent in ensuring the safety and security of the communities you serve."

Reacting to the decoration, DCP Usman Abdulrahman, speaking on behalf of the promotees, expressed gratitude to the AIG and the Nigeria Police Force for recognizing their efforts. He pledged that the newly promoted officers would continue to work diligently to enhance security and maintain public trust. DCP Usman also commended AIG Fayoade for his exemplary leadership, describing him as a visionary leader with a knack for innovation and administrative excellence.

The promotion of the officers was approved by the Police Service Commission following recommendations by the Inspector General of Police.

The ceremony underscores the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to rewarding outstanding performance while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and accountability within its ranks.
