First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Donates N100 Million to Niger State Disaster Victims

Niger State—The First Lady of Nigeri Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N100 million to victims of various disasters in Niger State through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

During her visit, Senator Tinubu announced that 70 affected families would each receive N1 million, while the remaining funds would be used to purchase food and essential supplies. She expressed hope that the state would be free from such unfortunate incidents in the future.

Although the visit was private, the First Lady commended Governor Mohammed Umar Bago for his developmental strides, particularly in the agricultural sector.

“You have been doing a lot for your state and, by extension, Nigeria in the area of agriculture. You should be proud of yourself,” she stated.


Senator Tinubu also visited former military leaders, General Ibrahim Babangida and General Abdulsalami Abubakar, describing them as national patriarchs. She emphasized the importance of seeking their counsel on national issues.

"Whatever we do in Abuja will not be complete without coming to see them, asking about their well-being, and seeking further advice," she noted.


Governor Bago expressed gratitude for the First Lady’s visit and generous support, stating that it reflects a motherly concern for the people of Niger State.

Similarly, the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Dr. Yahaya Abubakar, urged the First Lady to return to the state to inaugurate more RHI programs, particularly in agriculture.


Senator Tinubu was accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima. The visit also included commiseration over the recent explosion in the state, which claimed several lives.
