FRSC Recovers 73 Stolen Vehicles in 2024 Using NVIS Portal

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has successfully recovered 73 stolen vehicles across the country in 2024 through the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) Portal. This was revealed in a statement signed by the Corps’ Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).

According to the statement, the achievement underscores FRSC’s unwavering commitment to national security, intelligence sharing, and the safety of road users. The vehicles were retrieved during coordinated intelligence-driven operations, conducted in collaboration with other security agencies at the point of registration of suspected stolen vehicles.

The recovered vehicles include:

• Toyota Models: 4 Highlanders, 1 Lexus, 21 Corollas, 17 Camrys, 6 Siennas, 6 Lexus 350s, 3 Lexus ES350s, 1 Hilux, 1 RAV4, 1 Celica, 1 Venza
• Other Brands: 1 Suzuki Bus, 1 Honda Pilot, 1 Honda Ace, 2 Honda Accords, 1 Daihatsu, 1 Mercedes-Benz, 1 MAN Truck, 1 Pontiac Vibe, and 2 Qlink Motorcycles.

Commending the efforts of FRSC personnel, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, praised their dedication, bravery, and professionalism. He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to eradicating vehicle theft and ensuring the safety of Nigerians.

He urged vehicle owners to provide accurate information during registration, emphasizing that proper documentation enhances intelligence gathering and facilitates the swift recovery of stolen vehicles.

The Corps Marshal assured Nigerians that the FRSC remains steadfast in its mission to create a safer and more secure motoring environment, urging public cooperation in achieving safer roads across the country.
