AIG Zone 2 Decorates Newly Promoted Officers, Urges Professionalism and Dedication
Lagos, March 10, 2025 – The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Fayoade M. Fayoade, has officially decorated newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police, urging them to remain professional, law-abiding, and dedicated in the fight against crime.
During the decoration ceremony at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, AIG Fayoade expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) for approving the promotion of the officers.
"New Rank, New Responsibilities"
In his address, AIG Fayoade reminded the officers that their new ranks come with heightened responsibilities and expectations. He emphasized the importance of professionalism, adherence to the rule of law, and a strong commitment to serving the public. Quoting the popular saying, "To whom much is given, much is expected," he urged them to justify their promotions through diligent service and effective leadership in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
The newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police, while expressing their gratitude, acknowledged the honor bestowed upon them. They extended their appreciation to the IGP and other senior officers for recognizing their contributions and pledged to uphold the values of the Nigeria Police Force by remaining disciplined, responsible, and proactive in their duties.
The decoration ceremony marks another milestone in the ongoing efforts of the Nigeria Police Force to reward excellence and strengthen its leadership structure in the fight against crime and insecurity.
