Dangote Cement Zambia Wins Three Sustainability Awards
Lusaka, Zambia – Dangote Cement Zambia, a subsidiary of Dangote Cement Plc, has been recognized for its commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, winning three prestigious awards at the 6th National Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability Awards in Lusaka.
At the event, organized by **CSR Network Zambia, the company was honored with:
- Food Security Initiative Award – *Excellence in Agriculture category
- Best Waste Recycling Initiative Award – *Environmental Sustainability category*
- Mental Healthcare Award– *Excellence in the Workplace category
The award ceremony, held at the **Mulungushi International Conference Centre**, brought together over 60 major corporate organizations to celebrate outstanding contributions to CSR and sustainability.
Speaking at the event, **Lee Muzala**, Executive Director of **CSR Network Zambia**, praised Dangote Cement Zambia for its exceptional impact on agriculture, environmental conservation, and workplace well-being.
“Dangote Cement Zambia has demonstrated remarkable dedication to driving positive change in key sectors. These awards are a testament to the company’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and community empowerment,” Muzala stated.

Receiving the awards on behalf of the company, **Victor Mpundu**, Head of Environment and Social Performance (Sustainability Lead), expressed gratitude for the recognition.

Dangote Cement’s **Obajana plant in Kogi State, Nigeria**, is the largest in Africa, boasting a **16.25Mta capacity across five production lines**. The **Ibese plant in Ogun State** has **12Mta**, while the **Gboko plant in Benue State** and the **Okpella plant in Edo State** have **4Mta** and **3Mta**, respectively.
