First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Donates Hybrid Bus to National Council of Women Societies


Abuja – The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated a 14-seater hybrid bus to the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) on behalf of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in a ceremony held at the State House, Abuja.


Present at the event were prominent figures, including Hajia Nana Shettima, Wife of the Vice President and National Vice Chairman of RHI; Mrs Salamatu Gbajabiamila, Wife of the Chief of Staff to the President and Director of Economic Empowerment at RHI; Mrs Chioma Uzodinma, Wife of the Imo State Governor and Secretary of RHI; and Princess Edna Azura, National President of NCWS, alongside other executive members of the council.


Speaking at the presentation, Senator Tinubu emphasized the importance of empowering women-led organizations, reaffirming the government's commitment to supporting initiatives that drive economic growth and social development.


“The Renewed Hope Initiative remains committed to empowering women and supporting organizations like the NCWS, which play a vital role in national development,” she stated.

The event also featured a brief address by the NCWS President, Princess Edna Azura, who expressed gratitude for the donation, describing it as a valuable asset that would enhance the council’s activities and outreach efforts.


Dignitaries and members of the NCWS executive committee witnessed the symbolic handover of the vehicle, which is expected to improve mobility and logistical operations for the women’s organization.
