First Lady Oluremi Tinubu: "God is Looking on Nigeria with Mercy"

Abuja, Nigeria – The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration remains committed to improving the country and enhancing the lives of its citizens.

She made this statement during an Iftar gathering with former First Ladies of Nigeria, female National Assembly members, wives of lawmakers, and other dignitaries in Abuja.

A Call for Compassion and Unity

Addressing the gathering, Senator Tinubu urged Nigerians to embrace acts of kindness, emphasizing that extending a helping hand, even to just one person, can make a significant difference in alleviating hardship.

"We must take one person at a time and lend a helping hand. Small acts of kindness go a long way in improving the lives of others," she stated.

She also noted the rare coincidence of Ramadan and Lent this year, describing it as a divine occurrence.

"This is a time of sober reflection for our Muslim brothers and sisters, and also for Christians observing Lent. God has ordained it to be so at this time in our nation," she remarked.

A Call for Continued Prayer

The First Lady encouraged the Muslim Ummah to uphold the virtues they embraced during Ramadan and to continue seeking God’s mercy upon Nigeria.

In her welcome remarks, Hajiya Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President, expressed appreciation to Senator Tinubu for hosting the Iftar. She also urged attendees to continuously pray for the President and the nation.

Lecture on the Spiritual Significance of Ramadan

The event featured a lecture delivered by Professor Fatima Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of Azman University, Kano, who spoke on the spiritual significance and teachings of Ramadan.

Special prayers were also offered for Nigeria, President Tinubu, and the entire citizens, seeking divine guidance and peace for the nation.
