First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Mourns Victims of Abuja-Keffi Tanker Explosion

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic tanker explosion that occurred on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, along the Abuja-Keffi Highway near Karu Bridge. The accident led to multiple fatalities, injuries, and significant property damage.

In a condolence message, Senator Tinubu sympathized with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, the families of the deceased, the injured, and all those affected by the disaster, including business and property owners in the area.

She emphasized the importance of vehicle safety, urging owners and drivers—especially those operating articulated trucks—to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

The First Lady offered prayers for the souls of the departed, asking God to grant their families the strength to cope with the loss. She also wished the injured a swift recovery.

Authorities have since launched investigations into the cause of the explosion, as emergency responders continue efforts to manage the aftermath of the incident.
