Lekki Free Zone Investors Seek Partnership with Lagos Ministry of Transportation
Lagos, Nigeria – Lekki Worldwide Investment Limited (LWIL) has expressed its commitment to fostering a strong partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation to enhance the operational efficiency and infrastructure development of the Lekki Free Zone.
During a courtesy visit to the Ministry, a delegation led by LWIL Managing Director, Mr. Niyi Akinlusi, emphasized the company's interest in collaborating with the government to optimize mobility and logistics within the Free Zone and its surrounding areas.
Addressing Transportation Challenges
In his remarks, the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, acknowledged persistent challenges in managing traffic within the Lekki port corridor. He urged LWIL to consider investments in critical infrastructure, including support for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), to improve traffic flow and ease mobility for businesses and residents.
“Efficient transportation is key to sustaining economic growth in the Free Zone. We welcome collaboration with LWIL to implement interventions that will enhance movement and logistics in the area,” Osiyemi stated.
Commitment to Collaboration
The LWIL delegation assured the Ministry of its willingness to collaborate, promising to share insights from the Free Zone’s master plan to ensure alignment with the state’s broader transportation and mobility strategies.
The engagement marks a significant step in strengthening public-private partnerships aimed at boosting infrastructure development and economic activities within the Lekki Free Zone corridor.
