NEPZA Hands Over Oko Oba Farmers’ Market for Reconstruction

The Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) has officially handed over the Adeniyi-Olorunsogo Market at Oko Oba Junction, Eleranigbe, to a contractor for reconstruction. This marks a significant step towards revitalizing the market, which is renowned for its large-scale agro-product processing and distribution across Lagos State.

The handover event was attended by the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, who expressed gratitude to NEPZA for its commitment to reviving the market. "On behalf of the government and people of Ibeju-Lekki, I sincerely appreciate NEPZA for this opportunity, which will significantly boost agriculture in our local government," he stated.

Representing the Managing Director of NEPZA, Mr. Sulaiman Abdulkarim assured stakeholders that the reconstructed market would be transformed into a state-of-the-art commercial hub. He emphasized NEPZA's role in fostering an enabling environment for export manufacturing and commercial activities, adding that the contractor, Ease Mountain Nigeria Limited, is expected to deliver a high-quality project.

representing Ibeju II; Comrade Jabita Adeboye, Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC); Alhaji Adebanjo Shakiru, Special Adviser on Security to the Executive Chairman; and Mr. Yemi Azeez, Chief Technical Adviser on Communications.

With this initiative, the Oko Oba Farmers’ Market is set to become a modernized hub for agricultural commerce, further strengthening Ibeju-Lekki’s position in the state's economic landscape.
