NDLEA Lagos Command Receives Donation of Air Conditioner and Projector from Community Organisation

The Lagos State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Monday, April 28, 2025, received a donation of an air conditioner and a projector from a community-based organisation, Mistletoe Community Health and Rights Initiative (MCHARI).

The donation was formally presented during a courtesy visit to the State Commander at the Command Headquarters in Ikoyi by officials of MCHARI, led by Ms. Diana Edem Joseph.

Speaking during the presentation, Ms. Joseph explained that MCHARI is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting community health, with a special focus on supporting female injection drug users — a group often overlooked in discussions about drug abuse victims.

According to her, the donation represents the organisation’s modest contribution to the ongoing efforts of the NDLEA, an agency tasked with the critical responsibility of combating drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking across the country.

In his remarks, the Lagos State Commander of the NDLEA, Commander Abubakar Liman Wali, expressed profound appreciation to the organisation for their support. He emphasised that the fight against drug abuse and trafficking requires collective efforts, and welcomed partnerships with organisations and agencies willing to assist in addressing the drug menace.

"The war against drug abuse and illicit trafficking is not a one-man affair; it is a collective responsibility," Commander Wali said. "Everyone must contribute their quota to overcome this challenge."

Commander Wali also assured the delegation that he would report the donation to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, and promised that the donated items would be judiciously utilised to enhance the agency’s operations and serve humanity.

The visit ended with a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
