Senator Abiru Celebrates Media Icon Dr. Seye Kehinde at 60

Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has extended warm felicitations to renowned journalist and media entrepreneur, Dr. Seye Kehinde, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

In a tribute released on Tuesday, Senator Abiru lauded Dr. Kehinde’s groundbreaking contributions to the Nigerian media landscape, particularly through his pioneering work in soft-sell journalism. “On behalf of my family and the good people of Lagos East Senatorial District, I heartily congratulate an accomplished journalist and visionary media entrepreneur, Dr. Seye Kehinde, Founder of City People Group Limited,” the statement read.

Senator Abiru hailed the establishment of City People Magazine in 1995 as a revolutionary step that transformed the soft-sell journalism space in Nigeria. “The platform has not only shaped public discourse around society, lifestyle, and culture but has also created numerous opportunities and mentored a generation of media professionals,” he noted.

He praised Dr. Kehinde’s decades-long commitment to responsible journalism and national development, describing him as “a shining example of dedication, brilliance, and purpose-driven leadership.”

“As you celebrate this milestone, I honour your legacy, your unwavering dedication to nation-building, and your remarkable contributions to the growth of the Nigerian media industry,” the Senator added.

He concluded by praying for continued strength and good health for Dr. Kehinde as he marks this significant age.
