Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has taken his tradition of transparent governance beyond Nigeria’s borders, engaging Anambra citizens in the Diaspora as part of his administration’s commitment to accountability and inclusive development.

In a recent statement, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, described the governor’s presentation of his three-year performance report in London on Easter Monday as a "dialogue in accountability." The event, held with Ndi Anambra in the United Kingdom and European Union, capped a strategic Diaspora engagement series that previously made impactful stops in Lagos and Abuja.

Aburime emphasized that Governor Soludo’s approach reflects a genuine commitment to governance rooted in fiscal responsibility and people-first leadership. “While many states are overwhelmed by debt burdens, Governor Soludo proudly showcased his administration’s accomplishments without relying on potentially crippling loans from the World Bank,” he said.

Highlighting the significance of the London town hall meeting, Aburime noted that the interaction was not just ceremonial but a lively, unscripted session where tough questions were asked and candid answers provided. He said the governor’s openness to scrutiny and engagement with citizens directly aligns with his belief that governance must be participatory and transparent.

Beyond the accountability drive, the event also served as a clarion call to Anambra’s Diaspora community. “Governor Soludo understands the power of the Diaspora — their intellectual capital, business expertise, and investment capacity — and is urging them to actively contribute to the transformation of Anambra State,” Aburime stated.

According to him, this consistent outreach — from the state capital Awka to the commercial hub Lagos, political nerve-centre Abuja, and now the international stage — signals a deliberate and strategic leadership style. “By presenting development as a shared responsibility rather than a gift from government, Soludo is redefining stakeholder engagement and dismantling the outdated patron-client politics that has slowed progress across many Nigerian states,” Aburime added.

As the governor continues to advance his Smart Megacity agenda, these dialogues with stakeholders at home and abroad are expected to be instrumental in driving tangible results. Aburime concluded that this governance model — built on transparency, fiscal discipline, and collective vision — is positioning Anambra for sustained progress under the banner: One State, One People, One Agenda.
