First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Mourns Victims of Niger State Flooding

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has extended her heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Niger State following the devastating flooding that struck parts of the state last week.

The flooding, which occurred between Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29, 2025, affected communities in Mokwa, Tiffin Maza, and Anguwan Hausawa, resulting in loss of lives and destruction of properties. The disaster was reportedly triggered by heavy torrential rains, compounded by the state’s challenging geographical terrain.

In a condolence message addressed to the state governor, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, and the residents of the affected areas, Senator Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and prayed for comfort for those who lost loved ones.

"This devastating flooding, which led to loss of lives and properties, is very saddening. I pray that Almighty God grants the families, friends, and loved ones of those affected the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss," she said.

The First Lady also offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the deceased, asking that God grant them eternal rest.
