Founded in 1945, Wema Bank has grown into a household name—renowned for its innovation, resilience, and commitment to serving generations of Nigerians. Capping off an 80-day countdown to the milestone event, the Wema @ 80 Gala was a spectacular blend of music, culture, fashion, and heartfelt tributes from stakeholders and industry leaders.

The event, held in Lagos, attracted an array of high-profile dignitaries, including top government officials, financial experts, celebrities, and influencers. Goodwill messages flowed in, applauding Wema Bank’s legacy and ongoing transformation in the digital banking space.

A Star-Studded Musical Affair

The night’s entertainment featured a stellar lineup of Nigeria’s most celebrated artists. Davido set the stage ablaze with electrifying performances of his hits “Unavailable”, “Feel”, and “With You”. Wande Coal delivered smooth, soulful Afrobeat tunes, while 9ice thrilled the crowd with his timeless Yoruba-infused anthems. Yinka Davies brought elegance with a powerful vocal set, and Cobhams Asuquo left the audience spellbound with his signature musical brilliance. The night reached a nostalgic high with Sir Shina Ayinde’s vibrant Fuji session, taking guests down memory lane.

Celebrating Creativity and Culture

Beyond music, the gala was a showcase of Nigeria’s diverse creative talents. Appearances by DJ Sose, Kaffy, Teddy A, Seyi Awolowo, Deyemi Okanlawon, Stan Nze, Juliana Olayode, Shola Sax, JayOnAir, IB Quake, and Folagade Banks, among others, added an extra layer of glamour to the occasion.
