In celebration of the 2025 Children’s Day, leading mobile technology brand itel Nigeria, in collaboration with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), hosted a memorable event themed “Bold Dreams, Bright Futures.” Held at the NTA premises on Tejuosho Avenue, Yaba, Lagos, the event was part of itel’s ongoing Love Always On corporate social responsibility initiative.
Over 51 schools from across Lagos State benefited from the day’s activities, receiving educational and creative supplies worth more than ₦4 million. The items distributed included school bags, lunch packs, library bookshelves, coloring books, stationery sets, and reading materials — all aimed at supporting children’s educational growth and inspiring their aspirations.
A major highlight of the day was the donation of a solar energy system valued at over ₦2 million by itel Energy to the winner of the Spelling Bee competition. The solar installation is set to be deployed at the pupil’s family home, providing reliable and sustainable electricity.
Speaking at the event, Olaotan Fawehinmi, Public Relations Manager at itel Energy, described the gesture as a step toward community empowerment.
“This donation is more than electricity; it’s an opportunity. By bringing light into this child’s home, we’re enhancing education, security, and quality of life,” Fawehinmi stated.
“Our Love Always On CSR initiative is about more than just giving. It’s about nurturing potential and creating opportunities for every child to thrive. We are committed to building a future generation that is educated, empowered, and inspired.”
Beyond donations, the event featured a range of interactive and entertaining activities to keep the children engaged. These included a March Past parade, dance and quiz competitions, a Miss Children’s Day Pageant, painting sessions, musical performances, and other fun games with prizes.
Dolapo Samuel Olorun-nimbe, ATL Marketing Manager at itel Mobile Nigeria, emphasized the importance of celebrating children in a holistic way.
“Children’s Day is not just about giving — it’s about uplifting and inspiring. We designed this event to help children express themselves, learn, and enjoy. This aligns with itel’s mission to support families and communities every step of the way.”
With bright smiles, lively music, and a spirit of togetherness, itel’s 2025 Children’s Day celebration successfully combined education, empowerment, and entertainment — delivering on its promise to help everyone Enjoy Better Life.
