Lagos Explores AI-Driven Driver Training in Partnership with AIDMG

The Lagos State Government is considering the adoption of cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions to revolutionize driver training across the state. This development follows a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Transportation by the management of AI Driving Metaverse Group (AIDMG), led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Daniel Avdagic, and Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Heimo Hirn.

During the visit, the AIDMG team presented a proposal aimed at transforming driver education through the Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI). Central to the initiative is the integration of an AI-powered Driving Metaverse Simulator, designed to assess drivers’ behaviour, skills, and personality using key performance indicators.

The system will generate a detailed Driver Report, which will guide the delivery of personalized, simulator-based training to address specific skill gaps. The objective is to enhance driver competence and improve road safety across the state.

Describing the proposal as a “potential game changer,” the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, expressed strong support for the initiative. He underscored the importance of continuous training and re-training of drivers and recommended a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for its implementation.

“It’s time to elevate LASDRI’s training programmes to align with global standards,” Osiyemi stated.

Also in attendance were the General Manager of LASDRI, Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu, her team, top directors from the Ministry of Transportation, and Mr. Franklyn Olushola Frantos, Chief Executive Officer of Toplorgical, a cybersecurity software company.

The initiative is expected to bolster the state's ongoing efforts to improve traffic management and ensure safer roads through technology-driven solutions.
