Police Affairs Ministry Acquires Armoured Tactical Vehicles to Boost Police Operations

Abuja, Nigeria – In a significant move to enhance the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Federal Ministry of Police Affairs has procured and inspected seven Modified Light Tactical Armoured Vehicles.

The inspection was carried out by the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, at the Federal Secretariat, Phase III, Abuja. He was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Anuma Ogbonaya Nlia, and senior officials of the Ministry.

Speaking during the inspection, Senator Gaidam noted that the tactical vehicles were acquired through the Ministry’s budgetary allocation, underscoring the government’s commitment to equipping the NPF for more effective policing.

“These vehicles are expected to be used professionally by the Nigeria Police Force to combat insecurity across the country,” the Minister stated.

The vehicles, built for high-risk operations, are expected to significantly boost the mobility and tactical response of police personnel in critical security operations.

The development reflects the Ministry's ongoing efforts to modernize police infrastructure and strengthen national security.

According to the Ministry's spokesperson, Mr. Bolaji Oladimeji Kazeem, the vehicles will soon be officially handed over to the Police Force for deployment to strategic areas.

The procurement and inspection of the armoured vehicles were reported to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).
