Anambra North Endorses Soludo for Second Term, Confers Chieftaincy Title ‘Olu Atu Egwu’
Otuocha, Anambra State – June 23, 2025
As the November 8 Anambra governorship election approaches, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has received a major boost from Anambra North Senatorial District, where stakeholders across political divides have pledged their unwavering support for his re-election.
At a vibrant solidarity rally held at the Otuocha Township Stadium, thousands of residents and political leaders gathered to reaffirm their confidence in Governor Soludo’s leadership and developmental strides. The event also witnessed the conferment of a traditional chieftaincy title — Olu Atu Egwu — on the governor by the Anambra North Council of Traditional Rulers.
Speaking at the rally, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, described the overwhelming support as a resounding vote of confidence in Governor Soludo’s administration.
“This endorsement is a testament to Governor Soludo’s proven track record of delivery, vision, and commitment to the transformation of Anambra State,” Opara stated. “Anambra North has spoken with one voice in recognition of a leader who has continued to prioritize the well-being of the people.”
He noted that the governor’s developmental agenda has brought significant improvement across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
The traditional title, Olu Atu Egwu, which loosely translates to “The One Who Leads Without Fear,” was presented to Governor Soludo in acknowledgment of his bold and people-centered governance. The title, conferred by the region’s traditional rulers, is a symbolic recognition of the governor’s unwavering commitment to service.
With this renewed mandate from a key senatorial district, political analysts believe Governor Soludo’s path to re-election has gained strong momentum.
The solidarity rally not only reaffirms Soludo’s growing popularity across the state but also underscores the unity and collective resolve of Anambra North to back a leader they believe has delivered on his promises — and is poised to do even more.
