Dangote Refinery to Begin Nationwide Distribution of PMS, Diesel August 15
..Deploys 4,000 CNG Tankers, Offers Logistics-Free Supply to Marketers, Manufacturers, Others
In a groundbreaking move set to reshape Nigeria’s downstream oil sector, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced it will commence the nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel from August 15, 2025.
This significant rollout will see fuel delivered directly to marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecommunications firms, aviation companies, and other major users across the country—at no extra logistics cost.
To support the initiative, the refinery has deployed 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers, ensuring a robust and eco-friendly distribution network. Additionally, the company is investing in CNG booster stations and a fleet of over 100 specialized CNG tankers to maintain a seamless supply chain across the country.
Described as a strategic step toward transforming the nation’s energy landscape, Dangote Refinery says the initiative aligns with efforts to cut logistics costs, enhance sustainability, and bolster economic growth.
“All petrol stations, manufacturers, and other large-scale users purchasing PMS and diesel from the refinery will enjoy this logistics support,” the company stated. “This will help reduce fuel costs, lower inflation, and stimulate economic activities.”
To further incentivize bulk buyers, the refinery is introducing a credit facility for those purchasing a minimum of 500,000 litres. Beneficiaries will be able to access an additional 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks, backed by a bank guarantee.
Beyond immediate commercial benefits, the project is expected to revitalise dormant petrol stations, create jobs, support SMEs, and expand fuel access to underserved communities nationwide. It is also projected to boost government revenues and investor confidence in Nigeria’s petroleum sector.
The company praised the Federal Government for its support through the “Naira-for-Crude” exchange scheme, which has helped stabilise domestic fuel supply amidst global volatility.
Dangote Refinery emphasized that the programme is fully aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and reflects a shared vision of economic inclusion, stability, and national development.
Registration and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification for interested stakeholders—marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecom companies, and others—will run from June 16 to August 15, 2025.
