Fidelity Bank Donates Food Packs to 1,500 Flood Victims in Mokwa, Niger State

Mokwa, Niger State – In a compassionate response to the recent flood disaster that displaced hundreds of families in Mokwa, Niger State, Fidelity Bank Plc has provided food assistance to over 1,500 affected residents under its Fidelity Food Bank Initiative.

The intervention, aimed at alleviating the hardship caused by the disaster, reinforces the bank’s commitment to community support and social responsibility. Through its Food Bank Initiative, Fidelity Bank has continued to deliver emergency relief and food support to vulnerable communities across Nigeria.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank, emphasized the bank’s resolve to stand by Nigerians in times of need.

The distribution event witnessed strong participation from top officials of the Niger State Government. Leading the state delegation was the First Lady, Hajiya Fatima Umaru Bago, accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Gawu; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi Gbatamangi; Deputy Chief of Staff, Alhaji Yusuf Sadiq; Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Alhaji Mustapha Ndajiwo; and Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Hannatu Jibril.

Also in attendance were the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Barrister Mairo Mamman Mann; Commissioner for Information, Hajiya Binta Mamman; and ALGON representative Alhaji Ayuba Usman Katako, alongside several local government chairmen who came to show solidarity with the people of Mokwa.

This latest outreach in Mokwa follows a series of humanitarian interventions by Fidelity Bank in other parts of Nigeria. In the past year, the bank donated relief materials to victims of a fire outbreak in Taraba State and supported families affected by the collapse of the Zaria Central Mosque with food and cash assistance.
