LASCCWA Holds Empowerment Programme in Ibeju-Lekki, Receives Praises from Host Council Chairmen

Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos – May 19, 2025

The Lagos State Council Chairmen’s Wives Association (LASCCWA) on Monday held its monthly meeting and empowerment programme in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, with commendations from host council chairmen for the supportive roles the women play in governance and community development.

The event, co-hosted by Mrs. Jemila Olowa of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), featured the distribution of empowerment tools such as grinding machines, sewing machines, makeup kits, and cash support to residents across both councils.

Welcoming members of the association, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki LGA, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, hailed the wives of council chairmen for their unwavering support to their husbands, describing them as “the rock of Gibraltar” and “the salt of the earth.” He acknowledged the strength of their prayers and support, which he said energizes the work of local government chairmen across the state.

“The way you have all organized yourselves despite being spouses of leaders at the third tier of government is truly commendable,” Hon. Olowa remarked.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Hon. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, expressed gratitude to God for the lives of the women, while offering prayers for continued success and impact. He praised the association for its dedication to community service and fostering cooperation among local governments.

The President of LASCCWA, Dr. Mrs. Kehinde Olushola Razaq Ajala, led the delegation, reinforcing the association’s commitment to supporting women, children, and vulnerable groups, as well as enhancing collaboration between communities across Lagos State.

LASCCWA serves as a platform for chairmen’s wives to amplify key social issues, provide humanitarian aid, and enhance their effectiveness in supporting local governance efforts.
