National Mourning: Police Affairs Minister Gaidam Condoles Kano over Loss of Young Athletes in Road Tragedy

The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Kano State following the tragic death of several young athletes involved in a fatal road accident while returning from the recently concluded National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
In a personally signed condolence message made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), Senator Gaidam described the incident as a “heartbreaking event that has cast a shadow of grief across our nation.”
“I, Senator (Dr.) Ibrahim Gaidam, Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, wish to express my heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Kano State, as well as the entire Nigerian nation, on the tragic loss of our promising athletes in a road accident,” the message read.
The Minister acknowledged the immense contributions the deceased athletes made to sports development in Nigeria, praising their dedication and perseverance. “Their legacy of commitment and passion for excellence will continue to inspire future generations,” he stated.
While expressing deep sympathy to the bereaved families and citizens of Kano, Senator Gaidam emphasized that the Ministry of Police Affairs and the entire police community join in mourning the loss. He also offered prayers for the quick recovery of those injured in the crash.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of these energetic and committed young lives. May their souls rest in peace, and may Allah (SWT) grant comfort and strength to their families during this difficult time,” the statement added.
“Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. May Allah grant the departed Jannatul Firdaus and give patience and solace to their loved ones,” Senator Gaidam concluded.
The accident, which has plunged the sporting community and the nation at large into mourning, serves as a grim reminder of the need for enhanced safety measures for traveling athletes and officials.
