Chairman Olowa Charts New Development Path as Ibeju-Lekki Inaugurates Councilors, Executive Council Members
The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to deepening grassroots development as he formally inaugurated newly elected councilors and executive council members for the new political term.
At a colourful swearing-in ceremony held at the council secretariat, Hon. Olowa emphasized that the next four years would focus on targeted investments in critical sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, environmental sustainability, water management, and youth empowerment.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Chairman declared:
“This administration remains resolute in delivering on the mandate freely given to us by the people. In the next four years, we are focusing on building infrastructure that works, strengthening our healthcare system, improving the quality and access to education, and addressing water and environmental concerns in a sustainable way.”
He added that his government would also prioritize human capital development through youth-focused initiatives and empowerment programs aimed at unlocking the potential of Ibeju-Lekki’s vibrant population.
The Chairman charged the newly inaugurated councilors and executive members to see their appointments as a call to serve and to align with the council's renewed vision of progress, accountability, and transparency. He stressed the importance of teamwork, community engagement, and grassroots participation in governance.
“As we inaugurate our new legislative and executive teams today, I urge every one of you to carry the weight of public service with humility and diligence. Our people expect results, and together, we must meet and exceed those expectations,” Hon. Olowa said.
The Chairman’s re-election and leadership have continued to attract wide commendation, especially with his recent emergence as Chairman of the Conference 57 — the forum of all local government chairmen in Lagos State — a position seen as a testament to his leadership capacity and peer recognition.
The event drew political stakeholders, community leaders, traditional rulers, and residents who expressed optimism about the council’s development trajectory under Olowa’s administration.
Residents are also being urged to join hands with the government by staying engaged and participatory, as the council charts a new path for an even greater Ibeju-Lekki.
“With unity of purpose and shared responsibility, we are confident that the next four years will usher in unmatched growth and transformation across our communities,” the Chairman concluded.
