The Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has lauded the exceptional accomplishments of the pioneer graduating class of the Nigeria Police Force Day Secondary School, Abuja, during its first-ever graduation ceremony.

In a statement signed by the Ministry’s Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Bolaji O. Kazeem, Senator Gaidam commended the graduating students for their dedication, discipline, academic excellence, and the remarkable potential demonstrated in their final year examinations.

Speaking during the maiden Graduation Ceremony and Passing Out Parade for the 2024/2025 academic session, held at the school’s sports ground in Abuja, the Minister — represented by Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed, Director of the Police Services Department — described the event as a significant milestone in the school's development.

“This occasion symbolizes our commitment to building an educational institution within the Nigeria Police ecosystem that promotes academic excellence, moral discipline, and leadership,” he said.

Senator Gaidam emphasized that the ceremony reflects the ongoing Renewed Hope police reforms aimed at elevating the standards of education in police-run primary and secondary schools. He noted that the reforms are not only aimed at transforming security architecture but also ensuring the holistic development of future leaders from within the police community.

He added, “We are focused on implementing deep-rooted reforms, supported by a robust implementation strategy and innovative resource mobilization to ensure the success of these institutions.”

The Minister encouraged the students to remain focused on their education, expand their creative thinking, and cultivate a winning mindset that will prepare them to face future challenges with confidence.

In his remarks, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, represented by the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Saka Adewale, praised the graduates for their outstanding performance during the passing out parade.

“You have made us proud. The level of discipline, precision, and organization displayed during the parade and presentations is commendable,” CP Ajao stated. “Your seamless transition from slow to quick march and the coordinated colour party were truly impressive.”

The Commandant of Police Day Secondary School, SP Mariam Yusuf, reflected on the journey of the pioneer students, who were admitted in September 2019. She noted that the 65 graduating students had distinguished themselves in both character and academics.

“Their journey has been marked by resilience, dedication, and growth,” SP Yusuf said. “Thanks to the unwavering commitment of our staff, we are today celebrating a class that is academically sound, morally upright, and equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the next chapter of their lives.”

The event drew parents, police officials, educators, and community leaders, all united in celebrating the achievements of the trailblazing class and the steady rise of Police Day Secondary School as a model for discipline-driven academic excellence.
