Speaker Obasa Commissions Ultra-Modern Mandala Market in Agboyi-Ketu, Named After Late Hon. Tunde Buraimoh
…Over 300 shops rebuilt, roads, stadium, and other key projects unveiled as Mayor Dele Osinowo rounds off 8-year tenure
Agboyi-Ketu, Lagos – July 8, 2025 — The Agboyi-Ketu Local Government has commissioned a modernized Mandala Market, renamed in honour of the late Hon. Tunde Buraimoh, a former lawmaker who represented Kosofe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The new market complex, which features over 300 rebuilt and fully equipped shops, stands as one of the many developmental projects executed under the administration of Mayor Dele Osinowo, the outgoing Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Government.
The commissioning event, held amidst a large turnout of residents, party members, and stakeholders, also witnessed the official inauguration of several other completed projects, including newly constructed roads, recreational facilities, and a community stadium aimed at boosting grassroots sports and youth development.
Speaking at the event, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, who officially inaugurated the market, praised Mayor Dele Osinowo for his visionary leadership and people-centered governance throughout his eight years in office.
“I am impressed with the level of transformation this administration has brought to Agboyi-Ketu,” he said. “Mayor Osinowo did not embark on these projects for personal glory but for the collective progress of the people and the advancement of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). He has laid a solid foundation for the next administration to build upon.”
Rt. Hon. Obasa further charged the incoming leadership to remain committed to service, noting that the only way to earn the people’s lasting respect is to be remembered for the good one has done while in office.
Also present at the event was Senator Gbenga Ashafa, who joined in commissioning additional road projects and the community stadium. He commended the council chairman’s foresight and dedication to infrastructure development, which he described as a model for local government administration across the state.
On her part, Mrs. Adetola Abubakar, the APC candidate for the upcoming July 12 local government election, used the opportunity to appeal to residents of Agboyi-Ketu to come out en masse and vote in the forthcoming polls.
“This is a time to consolidate on the progress that has been made. The APC has shown capacity through the leadership of Mayor Osinowo. We urge every eligible voter to participate in the July 12 election to ensure continued growth and development in Agboyi-Ketu,” she said.
The renamed Mandala Market, now Tunde Buraimoh Ultra-Modern Market, is expected to boost economic activities in the area, provide better trading conditions for market men and women, and serve as a lasting tribute to the late lawmaker who was well respected for his dedication to public service.
As Mayor Osinowo prepares to hand over the reins of leadership, his administration leaves behind a legacy of progress, including road infrastructure, youth empowerment, educational support initiatives, and improved healthcare facilities—cementing his place as one of the most impactful council chairmen in Lagos State in recent times.
