Anambra South Endorses Soludo, Ibezim for Second Term, Backs Nwachukwu for Senate

Ekwulobia, Anambra – In a strong show of political unity and endorsement, the people of Anambra South Senatorial District have thrown their weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state.

The endorsement was made during a well-attended rally held at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium, where stakeholders from all seven local government areas in the senatorial zone gathered to declare their support for the duo's second term in office.

Governor Soludo’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, confirmed that the rally also served as the official presentation of Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the upcoming senatorial bye-election scheduled for August 16, 2025.

Addressing the crowd, Governor Soludo expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support from the South Senatorial Zone, describing the endorsement as a “massive morale booster,” especially as it precedes the official launch of his campaign council.

Speaking on the senatorial bye-election, Soludo described Chief Nwachukwu as a capable and reliable candidate who would work harmoniously with his administration. “A vote for Chief Nwachukwu is a vote for continuity, synergy, and effective representation. We want a senator who will collaborate with the executive and support our policy direction for the good of Anambra,” he stated.

Chief Nwachukwu, who officially received the party’s flag from the APGA National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, and the State Chairman, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, pledged to anchor his campaign on the visible achievements of Governor Soludo’s administration. He vowed to consolidate on the Governor’s developmental strides if elected.

The endorsement rally drew support from key political and community leaders including Dr. Paschal Agbodike, Member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency; Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly; Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Chief of Staff to the Governor; Chief Humphrey Anuna, President of the Anambra State Market Traders Association; and Dr. Chibueze Oforbuike, Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area.

In their separate remarks, the stakeholders praised the Soludo-led administration for its transformative initiatives across infrastructure, education, technology, and security, noting that the Governor has set a solid foundation for long-term growth.

The event reached its climax with the conferment of the traditional chieftaincy title "Oluatuegwu" on Governor Soludo by traditional rulers from the zone—a symbolic gesture recognizing his impactful leadership and further cementing his grassroots popularity ahead of the polls.
