First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Leads Delegation to Console Aisha Buhari in Kaduna

Kaduna, Nigeria – The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Friday, August 8, 2025, paid a condolence visit to Dr. Aisha Buhari, former First Lady, at her Kaduna residence following the death of her husband, former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Senator Tinubu was accompanied by the Wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima; Wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajia Fatima Tajudeen Abass; Wife of the Kwara State Governor, Amb. Dr. Olufolake Abdulrasaq; Wife of the Kaduna State Governor, Hajia Hafsat Uba Sanni; and other dignitaries, including wives of National Assembly members and state governors.

On arrival, Senator Tinubu was warmly received by Dr. Aisha Buhari. The two women shared an emotional embrace, reflecting their long-standing friendship and mutual respect. The atmosphere was one of compassion and solidarity as the delegation conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.

The First Lady’s visit underscored the unity and mutual support that bind Nigeria’s leaders and their families in moments of national and personal loss.

This marks the second time in recent weeks that Senator Tinubu has paid her respects to the Buhari family. On July 19, she led another high-profile delegation — comprising wives of governors, ministers, and service chiefs — to the late leader’s Daura home in Katsina State.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s leader from 2015 to 2023, passed away last month, drawing an outpouring of condolences from across the country and around the world.
