Ibeju-Lekki Council Flags Off 450m Lakowe–Losoro Link Road Project

The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has commenced a major infrastructural development drive with the construction of the 450-metre Lakowe–Losoro Link Road, complete with standard drainages, solar-powered streetlights, interlocking paving stones, and a secondary drainage collector that will channel stormwater into the Lagasa primary canal.

The council said the project, which kicked off on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, is designed to improve mobility, prevent perennial flooding, and boost the socio-economic activities of three host communities — Oribanwa, Losoro, and Lakowe.

According to the council, the intervention is part of its commitment to sustainable urban development and the provision of people-oriented projects that directly impact residents.

With the new road and drainage system, residents are expected to enjoy better connectivity, reduced traffic congestion, and enhanced protection from flooding during the rainy season.

The project is being executed under the council’s development agenda, themed “Idagbasoke Ibeju-Lekki, Ajumose Ni” (Ibeju-Lekki Development, Our Collective Responsibility).
