Joorefade Urges Lagos Residents to Participate in INEC Voter Registration

Lagos, Nigeria – August 18, 2025. Community leader and activist, Comrade Fatoki Abiodun Olumide (popularly known as Joorefade), has called on residents of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Alimosho LGA, and Lagos State at large to take full advantage of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise.

According to INEC, the online registration portal opens today, Monday, August 18, 2025, while physical registration at designated centers across the state will commence on Monday, August 25, 2025.

The exercise is targeted at four categories of voters:

  • First-time voters (18 years and above)
  • Residents who have relocated and need to transfer their registration
  • Citizens seeking replacement for lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs)
  • Voters who need to update or correct their personal information

Joorefade stressed that voter registration is a critical step in strengthening democracy, urging constituents to embrace the process and secure their right to choose leaders who will deliver the dividends of democracy.

“This is a crucial opportunity for all eligible citizens, especially in Alimosho and Ayobo-Ipaja, to fulfill their civic responsibility. By registering and participating in elections, we can ensure good governance and build a better future for our people,” he said.

He further encouraged citizens to complete their registration either through the INEC portal (cvr.inecnigeria.org) or by visiting the INEC office and other approved centers within their local councils.

Joorefade maintained that an active and engaged electorate is the foundation of progress in any society.

“Together, let’s join hands to build a greater Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA and a stronger Nigeria,” he added.
