Primate Ayodele to South Sudan President: Shun Elder Statesmen’s Advice, Embrace Economic Reforms

Founder and Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has advised the President of South Sudan to disregard the counsel of certain elder statesmen, warning that their advice could “corrupt the system.”

Speaking to journalists at his church headquarters in Ejigbo, Lagos, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Ayodele predicted significant developments in the country’s oil sector, infrastructure, agriculture, and currency stability before the end of the year.

The cleric urged the president to adopt the economic ideas of businessman Benjamin Bol Mel, describing them as transformative and capable of ensuring long-term economic stability.

“There will be no war, no crisis in South Sudan,” Ayodele said. “What the country needs now is transformation and development that will bring absolute peace.”

He forecast that the United Arab Emirates would extend financial support to South Sudan and that the nation’s weak currency would strengthen as reforms take hold.

Ayodele concluded by expressing optimism that the country’s progress in 2025 would mark the beginning of a new era of stability and prosperity.
