Soludo’s CPS, Aburime, Mourns Media Advocate Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili

The Chief Press Secretary to Anambra State Governor, Christian Aburime, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the founder of the Anambra Core Media Advocates, Dr. Harris Udokama Chuma-Odili, popularly known as Ogene Ogbunike.

Dr. Chuma-Odili, a respected journalist and media advocate, passed away on August 23, 2025.

In a condolence message issued on behalf of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and the entire media community in Anambra, Aburime described the late Chuma-Odili as a visionary leader whose contributions significantly shaped journalism and public advocacy in the state.

“As a passionate advocate for responsible media practices, Dr. Chuma-Odili’s contributions to journalism and media advocacy have had a significant impact on our community, promoting ethics, accountability, and civic engagement,” Aburime said.

He noted that the late media advocate dedicated his career to fostering media literacy and empowering citizens through informed discourse.

“The loss of Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili is a profound one for Anambra State. He tirelessly championed the cause of truth in journalism and worked diligently to create a more informed and engaged society. His passion for advocacy and commitment to elevating the voices of ordinary citizens serve as an inspiration to us all,” Aburime added.

He extended condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and colleagues, urging Ndi Anambra to celebrate Dr. Chuma-Odili’s life and contributions to media development in the state.

“May his soul rest in peace,” he prayed.
