Army Signals School Commends Globacom, Seeks Partnership on ICT Training

The Nigerian Army School of Signals (NASS) has commended telecommunications giant, Globacom, for its consistent contributions to national development and commitment to promoting Nigerian values.

Commandant of the school, Major General Kennedy Osemwegie, gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to Globacom’s corporate headquarters in Lagos. He described the company as a true Nigerian brand that has, since inception over two decades ago, continued to “extend the frontiers of who a Nigerian should be through its Nigeria-centered focus.”

The Commandant, who was accompanied by other senior officers of the institution, said the visit was aimed at exploring possible areas of collaboration, particularly through Globacom’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, Glo Foundation. He emphasized that such cooperation was vital in strengthening civil-military relations and in enhancing the institution’s training mandate.

“The Nigerian Army School of Signals is the hub of ICT and communications training for Army personnel and some other paramilitary organizations. We are therefore seeking corporate partnerships that will help us discharge our responsibilities more effectively,” Osemwegie explained.

In her response, Globacom’s Director of Strategy and Board Affairs, Mrs. Mojisola Ashieru Sweet, expressed appreciation for the recognition and assured the delegation of the company’s readiness to support the school’s vision.

She highlighted Globacom’s Smart Learning Suite, particularly its Learning Management System (LMS), which can be customized to meet the needs of educational and professional training institutions. The platform provides digital content creation, live classes, online assessments, performance reporting, instant messaging, and video conferencing for an enriched learning experience.

According to her, the suite also includes an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution for school administration, bundled with dedicated data access for uninterrupted connectivity by students.

Mrs. Ashieru Sweet noted that as an indigenous company, Globacom takes pride in driving innovations that transform lives and pledged the company’s commitment to working with the Nigerian Army School of Signals in advancing its ICT and communication training programs.
