 South West Arewa APC Leaders Disown ‘Faceless Groups’, Reaffirm Support for Hon. Aminu Jaji

Lagos, Nigeria – September 12, 2025 — The leadership of the Arewa Community in the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the South West has distanced itself from what it described as “faceless groups” parading themselves as coordinators of the Arewa APC in the region.

In a statement signed by the spokesman of the South West Arewa APC Chairmen Forum, Alhaji Umaru Mohammed—who also serves as Chairman of the Arewa APC in Osun State—the forum condemned recent visits by some Lagos-based groups to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, claiming to represent the South West Arewa APC.

Alhaji Mohammed stressed that the legitimate South West Arewa APC structure remains under the patronage of Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, member representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency of Zamfara State.

“Arewa Community APC South West has been in existence with our patron and founder, Hon. Aminu Sanni Jaji, and we still recognize him as our leader till date. We are calling on the public and leaders of our great party in the South West to disassociate from these groups, who are only playing Lagos politics and not representing the South West Arewa APC,” he said.

The forum praised Hon. Jaji for his contributions to the Arewa APC in the region, citing his support during the 2023 general elections, including the provision of campaign vehicles, branded materials, and financial assistance to grassroots leaders and members across the South West.

“It is out of place for some individuals to attempt to sabotage the united efforts we are putting in place as we look forward to 2027. Anyone parading themselves outside our recognized leadership is null and void,” Mohammed added.

The statement also outlined the recognized leadership structure of the Arewa APC South West as follows:

• Founder/Patron: Hon. Aminu Sanni Jaji (Member, Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, Zamfara State)
• Chairman, South West & Lagos State: Alhaji Sa’adu Yusuf Dandare Gulma
• Vice Chairman (South West): Alhaji Sanni Kangiwa Sarduna (Chairman, Ondo State Arewa APC)
• Secretary (South West): Hon. Prince Hadi Sani (Chairman, Ogun State Arewa APC and SSA to Governor Dapo Abiodun)
• PRO (South West): Alhaji Umaru Mohammed (Chairman, Osun State Arewa APC)
• Financial Secretary (South West): Hon. Bawa Hassan (SSA to Governor of Ekiti State)

The forum advised individuals fueling division to desist from creating factions within the Arewa APC South West, urging them instead to align with the existing structure for a stronger and more united front.

“All matters concerning the Arewa Community APC South West should be directed to our South West Secretariat,” the statement concluded.
