Sterling HoldCo Projects N149.27bn Gross Earnings for Q4 2025– Strong outlook reinforces investor confidence
Lagos, Nigeria – September 11, 2025 — Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc (Sterling HoldCo) has projected gross earnings of N149.27 billion for the fourth quarter ending December 31, 2025, reinforcing the Group’s strong growth momentum and investor confidence.
The projection builds on a robust first-half performance in which profit after tax surged 157 percent, gross earnings rose 39.7 percent to N212.61 billion, and earnings per share improved to 89 kobo from 56 kobo.
According to its filing on the Nigerian Exchange, Sterling HoldCo expects interest income of N116.73 billion and interest expenses of N42.88 billion, yielding net revenue from funds of N73.85 billion. Credit impairment charges are forecast at N16.84 billion, while other income is projected at N28.37 billion, bringing net operating income to N85.37 billion.
Operating expenses are estimated at N67.24 billion, leaving a profit before tax of N18.13 billion. After a projected tax of N1.88 billion, profit after tax is expected at N16.25 billion for the quarter.
On liquidity, the Group anticipates a net increase of N91.79 billion in cash and cash equivalents, with closing balances projected at N549.90 billion by year-end, compared to N458.11 billion at the beginning of the quarter. This outlook reflects N13.56 billion net cash from operating activities, N266.16 billion from financing inflows, and N187.93 billion in investing activities.
Sterling HoldCo said the forecasts reflect the continuation of its growth momentum, supported by disciplined cost management, diversified income streams, and prudent balance sheet growth.
Beyond financial performance, the Group emphasized its readiness to channel financial strength into key growth sectors of the Nigerian economy, invest in innovation, and continue creating value for shareholders, customers, and communities.
It noted that its strong liquidity position and ability to generate operating cashflows provide resilience, positioning the Group to deepen its role in driving economic progress and innovation.
However, Sterling HoldCo stressed that the projections are forward-looking and subject to market conditions and regulatory developments, noting that actual results may differ materially.
