Adeniji Olamide Declares Bid for NUJ Oyo Council Secretary, Picks Nomination Form
A seasoned journalist and media professional, Adeniji Olamide, has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, ahead of the union’s forthcoming elections.
Adeniji picked up his nomination form on Wednesday in Ibadan, accompanied by colleagues, supporters, and well-wishers who described his aspiration as timely and rooted in service to members.
With over 19 years of experience in journalism and public relations, Adeniji has built a reputation for professionalism and dedication. He previously served as Secretary of the NUJ Information Chapel, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Presently, he serves as Public Relations Manager for multiple ministries, departments, and agencies within the Oyo State Civil Service, including the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB).
Adeniji also holds national and regional leadership roles as the National Secretary of the Forum of SUBEB PROs and South-West Coordinator of the same body.
Supporters have lauded his record of reform-minded leadership and commitment to ethical journalism, noting that his candidacy embodies transparency and inclusiveness.
The NUJ Oyo Council election, slated for December 2025, will bring together journalists from print, broadcast, and online platforms to elect new executives that will pilot the Union’s affairs for the next term.
