Bayo Balogun, Olowu, Olowa Inspect Proposed Power Station Site at Eleko






A major step toward tackling electricity shortages and boosting economic growth was taken on Thursday as top government officials inspected the proposed site of a new power station in Eleko, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The facility, when completed, is expected to provide stable power supply for households, businesses, and industries in the fast-growing corridor, reinforcing the state government’s drive for sustainable development.

Leading the delegation were Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Adebayo Balogun; Special Adviser to the Governor on Minerals and Energy Resources, Hon. Okanlawon Abiola Olowu; and Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa.

The team, joined by technical experts from the Lagos State Ministry of Power and Energy, assessed the site’s terrain, potential environmental impact, and overall suitability for integration into the state’s power infrastructure.

Speaking after the inspection, the officials assured residents that the project would not only improve electricity access but also enhance industrial activities and quality of life across Ibeju-Lekki communities.
