LASAA investigates staff over alleged improper transaction practices

The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has launched an investigation into allegations that one of its staff members engaged in improper transaction practices by using a personal bank account to receive payments for signage-related services.

In a statement issued by the management of the agency, LASAA said it became aware of the allegation through a social media post and described the matter as a serious breach of ethical and financial procedures governing its operations and those of the Lagos State Civil Service.

The agency noted that, in line with the directive of the Honourable Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the staff involved has been identified and ordered to report at the agency’s head office for immediate investigation and disciplinary action in accordance with public service rules.

“LASAA reiterates its unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all its operations. The Agency maintains a strict policy that all payments for its services must be made only through officially designated government channels,” the statement read in part.

The agency further commended members of the public for their vigilance and assured that necessary corrective measures would be taken to safeguard public trust and uphold the integrity of its processes.

LASAA added that further updates would be communicated as the investigation progresses.
