LASAA Reaffirms Commitment to Visual Order, Safety as Lagos Assembly Committee Visits

The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and visually appealing environment across Lagos following an oversight visit by the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Environment.

The delegation, led by Committee Chairman, Honourable Shabi Rasheed Adekola, paid a statutory visit to LASAA’s headquarters as part of the Assembly’s legislative oversight functions. The engagement provided an avenue for in-depth discussions on the agency’s regulatory performance, operational challenges, and strategic plans for sustainable development of the state’s outdoor advertising landscape.

Welcoming the lawmakers, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LASAA, Prince Fatiu Akiolu, expressed appreciation for the committee’s continued support and guidance, describing the visit as a reinforcement of the shared vision for a cleaner and safer Lagos.

“We are deeply committed to upholding best practices in outdoor advertising regulation,” Akiolu stated. “LASAA’s mission is to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development of Lagos State’s visual environment, and we pursue this with diligence and integrity for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.”

In his remarks, Honourable Adekola commended LASAA’s operational efficiency and regulatory drive, particularly its role in maintaining visual order and promoting environmental safety under the leadership of Prince Akiolu.

He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the legislature and government agencies to ensure effective service delivery and accountability in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda.

“We recognise LASAA’s vital role in keeping Lagos clean and safe,” Adekola said. “This partnership between the legislature and government agencies is crucial to delivering results that reflect the government’s commitment to good governance and citizen welfare.”

The Committee Chairman further encouraged LASAA to intensify public sensitization on its regulatory mandate to boost compliance and revenue generation, while assuring Lagosians that the agency’s advertising structures are built and maintained with the “utmost integrity” to guarantee public safety.
