Nigeria–China Strategic Partnership Hails Shared Independence Day Milestones, Reaffirms Commitment to Stronger Ties

The Nigeria–China Strategic Partnership (NCSP) has joined in the global celebration of October 1, a date of historic significance for both nations. While Nigeria marked its 65th Independence Anniversary, the People’s Republic of China celebrated 76 years of nationhood.

In a goodwill message, NCSP Director General, Mr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, congratulated both countries, describing the coincidence of the anniversaries as a testament to resilience, progress, and the strength of purposeful partnerships.

“As Nigeria celebrates 65 years of independence and the People’s Republic of China marks 76 years of national pride on the same historic date, NCSP stands firmly at the center of deepening the bond between our nations. Together, we are building pathways for shared prosperity across generations,” Tegbe said.

Since its inception, the NCSP has played a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral relations through high-level engagements with Chinese government officials and leading business executives. The body has facilitated multi-billion-dollar investments in key sectors such as agriculture, automotive manufacturing, mining, steel production, energy, and digital transformation.

Reaffirming its commitment, the Partnership noted that as both countries celebrate their national milestones, NCSP will continue to champion initiatives that drive economic growth, foster innovation, and promote mutual progress for Nigeria and China.
