Olowa joins Lagos commissioners, council chairmen in strategic talks for a cleaner city



The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Chairman of Conference 57, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has joined top Lagos State officials in a strategic meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration on waste management and environmental sustainability across the state.

The meeting, held at Protea Hotel, Ikeja, brought together the Honourable Commissioners for Environment and Transportation, as well as local government chairmen, to discuss practical strategies for improving waste collection, disposal, and public sanitation towards achieving a cleaner and healthier Lagos.

Speaking in his capacity as Chairman of the 57 Council Chairmen, Hon. Olowa underscored the need for synergy among all tiers of government and relevant stakeholders to address environmental challenges effectively.

He reaffirmed the commitment of local government chairmen to supporting the state’s drive for a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environment, noting that collective responsibility remains crucial to achieving Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s vision of a Greater Lagos.

According to him, enhanced coordination between the state and local councils will ensure better service delivery and lasting solutions to waste management issues affecting communities across the metropolis.
