....Insurance and health group expands access to early detection services for women in Lagos

Lagos, Nigeria — In a bold move to strengthen its commitment to women’s health, SUNU Nigeria, comprising SUNU Assurances Nigeria Plc and SUNU Health Nigeria Limited, has launched the second edition of its Pink October initiative, offering free breast cancer screening to 150 women across Nigeria.

The campaign, tagged “Pink October 2.0,” represents a 50% increase from last year’s outreach, which benefited 100 women. The free screenings — including mammograms and clinical breast examinations — will run from Monday, October 27 to Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Diamed Medical Centre, Lagos.

According to Mrs. Japari Yusuf, Head of Corporate Services at SUNU Nigeria, the initiative reflects the organization’s growing dedication to preventive healthcare and community well-being.

“We are pushing this initiative for the second year because we want more people to benefit and stay ahead of their health. Early detection is critical, and we are proud to use our platform to make essential health services accessible to more women,” she stated.

The campaign underscores SUNU Nigeria’s strong corporate social responsibility (CSR) focus, empowering women through early detection and timely intervention to improve survival outcomes in breast cancer cases.

Also speaking, Mr. Samuel Olayemi, Brand & Corporate Communications Officer, emphasized that the initiative aligns with SUNU’s broader mission to combine insurance and healthcare solutions for holistic well-being.

“As providers of both insurance and healthcare, our mission goes beyond policies and premiums. This ‘Pink October 2.0’ campaign is a testament to our long-term commitment to the communities we serve. We want Nigerians to live healthier, more secure lives,” Olayemi said.

A proud member of the SUNU Group, which operates in 17 African countries, SUNU Nigeria continues to champion initiatives that promote access to quality healthcare and raise awareness about the importance of early cancer detection.
