World Customer Service Week: Ondo Police Commissioner Engages Artisans, Scavengers, and Hausa/Fulani Community on Security Collaboration
Akure, Ondo State – October 9, 2025
As part of activities marking the 2025 World Customer Service Week, the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, psc(+), mnips, has reiterated the importance of community partnership in enhancing effective policing and service delivery.
In line with the global theme of the celebration, CP Lawal on Thursday held an interactive session with key community stakeholders, including artisans, scavengers, and members of the Hausa/Fulani community in Akure. The engagement, according to the Command, was aimed at strengthening mutual trust, promoting peaceful coexistence, and fostering collective responsibility in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the state.
Addressing participants, the Commissioner commended their roles in driving economic growth and urged them to remain law-abiding and vigilant in their daily activities. He emphasized that security is a shared responsibility and encouraged closer collaboration with the Police in curbing crimes such as auto theft, handling of stolen property, and other related offenses.
“No business, craft, or community can thrive without security. Working together is far more effective than working alone,” CP Lawal stated.
The Police Commissioner also lauded the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, for his visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to strengthening community-based policing nationwide. He noted that the IGP’s policies have inspired renewed engagement with stakeholders across Ondo State.
Representatives of the groups in attendance expressed appreciation to the Command for its proactive outreach and pledged continued cooperation with the Police in addressing security challenges within their communities.
The Ondo State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to community-oriented policing and assured residents of sustained efforts to safeguard lives and property.
