The 11th edition of the Africa Knock Out (AKO) martial arts championship delivered a thrilling night of combat sports on Saturday, 15th November 2025, as fighters from across Africa showcased skill, endurance, and determination before an electrified Lagos audience.

This year’s championship was proudly backed by Fearless Energy Drink, whose partnership with AKO reinforces the brand’s commitment to supporting bold, ambitious youth initiatives and nurturing the next generation of African martial arts champions.

Held at La Madison Place, Lekki, the event attracted a lively crowd of fight enthusiasts eager to witness Africa’s rising stars compete across multiple weight divisions. The charged atmosphere set the stage for explosive matchups and gripping storylines.

The headline Middleweight bout between South Africa’s Chad Hanekom and Cameroon’s Jordan Fongno lived up to expectations, with Fongno securing a dramatic split-decision technical victory, positioning him as one of the championship’s most promising contenders.

The Featherweight division also delivered intense action, as Ivory Coast’s Bibi Zazah fought courageously but narrowly lost to Angola’s Tulundat Daniel after a tense three-round battle.

In an all-Nigerian Bantamweight clash, Stephen Akintewe outperformed Jamiu Musa in one of the night’s most competitive fights. Reflecting on his victory, Akintewe stated, “I fight to win. I’ll keep pushing myself, and I’m grateful to my coach for his support and guidance.”

Nigeria continued its dominance in the Lightweight division, where Pelejah Osoba claimed a decisive win over Equatorial Guinea’s Lonan Fanghamou after three intense rounds. Another all-Nigerian Bantamweight contest saw Peter Onuh triumph over Eberechukwu Ibeh in a thrilling showdown. Celebrating his win, Osoba said, “I am very happy to win this fight and will build on this momentum.”
