LASPPPA Intensifies Engagement with Ibeju-Lekki LG on Physical Planning Amnesty Programme

The Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) has extended its ongoing stakeholder sensitization drive to Ibeju-Lekki Local Government to deepen awareness and encourage participation in the state’s Physical Planning Amnesty Programme.

A delegation led by the Supervising Director of LASPPPA, Tpl. (Mrs.) Kehinde Ajai-Ajagbe, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa. The chairman was represented by the Chief of Staff, Mr. Issa Maruf Olayinka.

During the engagement, LASPPPA officials outlined the benefits of the amnesty initiative, which allows residents and property owners across Lagos to regularize building permits without the payment of penal fees. The programme is aimed at ensuring orderly development, strengthening compliance, and limiting future enforcement actions.

Residents applying under the amnesty window are required to provide:

  • Current tax clearance
  • Certified true copy of title document
  • Proof of ownership
  • Survey plan
  • Architectural drawings (as-built), among other supporting documents

The LASPPPA team included district officers responsible for different areas within Ibeju-Lekki:
Tpl. (Mrs.) Owoade Funmi (Ibeju West), Tpl. Ogungbo R.T (Ibeju East), Tpl. Rotimi Adegboyejo (Lekki I), and Tpl. Saheed Lateef (Lekki II).

Responding on behalf of the council chairman, Mr. Olayinka commended LASPPPA for the outreach initiative and pledged that all discussions would be relayed to Hon. Olowa for immediate support and collaboration to ensure smooth implementation across the local government.

LASPPPA reiterated that the amnesty programme remains a crucial opportunity for property owners to regularize their developments in line with Lagos State’s physical planning regulations.
