Olowa Hosts Police–Youth Dialogue to Boost Security Cooperation in Ibeju-Lekki

In a bid to strengthen community security and foster mutual understanding between law enforcement and young residents, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, on Monday hosted a Police–Youth Dialogue at the council secretariat.

The event, themed “The Power of Partnership: Cultivating Trust and Understanding Between Youths and Law Enforcement Agencies,” brought together over 200 youth leaders, representatives of the Lagos State Police Command, and community stakeholders.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Olowa expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, and the ministry officials for selecting Ibeju-Lekki as host for the initiative. He highlighted the importance of open dialogue between young people and the police as a means of promoting peace, security, and mutual trust within the community.

The council boss also commended participants for their active engagement, noting that youths remain vital partners in the pursuit of a safer and more progressive Lagos.

The dialogue featured interactive sessions, experience sharing, and joint recommendations aimed at improving security collaboration, intelligence sharing, and peaceful coexistence across Ibeju-Lekki and its environs.

Participants and stakeholders described the initiative as impactful, timely, and solution-driven, reinforcing Ibeju-Lekki’s commitment to proactive governance and security partnership.
