POCACOV, NAOSNP Partner to Champion 2025 Nigerian Children National Crime Awareness Month

The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has announced a strategic partnership with the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) as its official media partner for the 2025 edition of the Nigerian Children National Crime Awareness Month.

According to a statement signed by Olafemi George, POCACOV’s National Director, Citizens Engagement, and made available to NAOSNP President Mayor (Dr.) Oki O. Samson, the nationwide initiative will run from November 11 to 28, 2025, under the theme “We Are the Children of Nigeria — Our Lives Matter.”

The campaign, George explained, is designed to give Nigerian children a platform to speak up against the threats of crime, drug abuse, cultism, and moral decline through a series of education-oriented and awareness-driven activities across schools nationwide.

“There are moments in history when a nation must pause, look into the eyes of its children, and decide what kind of future it wants to protect. For Nigeria, that moment has come,” the statement read.

“Across our communities, schools, and homes, the quiet cry of our children grows louder each day — a plea to be seen, to be heard, and to be saved from the rising shadows of crime, drug abuse, cultism, and moral decay.”

Highlighting the significance of the initiative, POCACOV noted that this year’s edition will mark the first-ever National Children Crime Awareness Month, with children themselves leading the official flag-off ceremonies simultaneously across all 36 states.

“This movement is not a ceremony; it is a national rebirth. For the first time in our history, Nigerian children will stand — not as spectators, but as voices of hope — declaring to the nation and the world: ‘We are the children of Nigeria — our lives matter.’”

Acknowledging NAOSNP’s longstanding role in promoting public safety and national security, the statement commended the association’s continued dedication to truth, advocacy, and nation-building.

“Your association has always stood as the conscience of our nation. Today, we ask you once again to stand on the side of truth and legacy, giving these children a voice and a face through your platform as our official media partner,” George stated.

The month-long programme will feature the following key activities:

• November 11: National Prayer and Flag-Off in schools across Nigeria.
• November 12: 2-Kilometre National Awareness Walk by children in school uniforms.
• November 17: National Letter-Writing Day — theme: “Letter to the President.”
• November 20: National Drawing Day — theme: “Face of Motherhood.”
• November 28: Screening of the official National Crime Awareness Film across schools nationwide.

The collaboration between POCACOV and NAOSNP underscores a shared commitment to protecting Nigeria’s future generations through education, awareness, and positive civic engagement.
