Subair Named Board Chair of the Year as LIRS Clinches Top Revenue Agency Award



Lagos – The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has been lauded for its outstanding performance and sector leadership, clinching major accolades at the 2025 Peak Performer Awards held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel on Tuesday, 18 November 2025.

Executive Chairman of LIRS, Mr. Ayodele Subair, was named “Board Chair of the Year”, recognising his visionary leadership, strategic direction, and consistent delivery of results in advancing revenue administration across Lagos State. The honour coincided with his feature on the cover of the 2025 edition of Peak Performer Magazine, highlighting his contributions to digital transformation, operational efficiency, and modern tax administration.

Under Subair’s guidance, LIRS has implemented strategic reforms, adopted technology-driven processes, and improved service efficiency, positioning Lagos as a national model for modern revenue collection.

In addition to Subair’s personal recognition, LIRS was awarded “Peak Performing Revenue Agency”, acknowledging its commitment to transparent governance, continuous improvement, and innovative revenue practices that bolster Lagos State’s economic growth.

Other awardees celebrated for their contributions to various sectors included Chief Chris O. Okunowo (Legal Profession), Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe (Financial Services), Austin Avuru (Oil & Gas), Dr. John Obaro (Payment Services), Dr. Victoria A. Samson (Oil & Gas), Dr. Abiodun Adedipe (Professional Services), Prof. Chris Uwaje (Information Technology), Dotun Sulaiman, and Ufot Udeme (Professional Services).

Speaking at the event, Subair expressed gratitude, stating: “This award reflects the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of the entire LIRS team.
