 LSSTF Boosts Lagos Taskforce Operations With New Patrol Vehicle

LAGOS — The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated a brand-new operational vehicle to the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, popularly known as the Lagos Taskforce, to enhance its operational efficiency and rapid response capacity.

The vehicle was formally handed over on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the LSSTF office in Alausa, Ikeja, by the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Fund, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan.

Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Taskforce was the Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce and Monitoring Enforcement Unit, CSP Adetayo Akerele, who was accompanied by senior officers during the brief handover ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ogunsan reaffirmed the LSSTF’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of security agencies operating in Lagos State, noting that the donation was part of ongoing efforts to provide critical logistics and infrastructure needed to support effective enforcement and monitoring operations across the state.

He added that improved mobility remains key to enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring a swift response to security and environmental offences in the metropolis.

In his remarks, CSP Akerele expressed gratitude to the LSSTF for the support, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. He noted that the addition of the new vehicle would significantly improve the Taskforce’s mobility and overall operational effectiveness.

The donation underscores the Lagos State Government’s sustained investment in security infrastructure through the LSSTF to ensure safety, orderliness and effective law enforcement across the state.
