LSSTF Strengthens Lagos Security Architecture with Operational Vehicles for NDLEA, Ports Authority Police, Others
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has intensified its drive to strengthen security operations across Lagos State with the donation of operational vehicles to key law enforcement and safety agencies, reinforcing logistics, mobility, and rapid response capabilities at critical security points.
As part of the intervention, LSSTF presented an operational vehicle to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Airport Command to enhance surveillance and enforcement against drug trafficking and related crimes at Lagos airports.The vehicle was handed over by the Director of Administration, LSSTF, Mr. Degbola Lewis, on behalf of the Executive Secretary/CEO, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, and received by the Commander of Narcotics, NDLEA Airport Command, CN Akinleye Oluwafunmilayo Peter, alongside senior officers.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Lewis reaffirmed LSSTF’s commitment to supporting frontline security agencies through improved logistics and mobility, noting that operational efficiency remains critical to effective surveillance, enforcement, and rapid response.
In her remarks, CN Akinleye expressed appreciation to LSSTF, describing the donation as timely and impactful. She noted that the vehicle would significantly boost the Command’s operational efficiency in safeguarding airports and curbing illicit drug activities.
In a related intervention, LSSTF also donated an operational vehicle to the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, Apapa, led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Toyin Agbaminoja, to strengthen maritime and port security operations. The presentation was made by Dr. Ayo Ogunsan and received by CP Agbaminoja alongside senior officers, including DCP Jimoh Salau (DC Operations Ports), ACP Samuel Aladegoroye (AC Ports CID), DSP Mercy Falana (PA to the CP), ASP Isaac Hundeyin (PPRO), and Inspector Yinka Fowowe.
Speaking during the courtesy visit, Dr. Ogunsan emphasized that effective port security is vital to economic stability, trade facilitation, and crime prevention in Lagos State. He commended CP Agbaminoja’s leadership and dedication, describing her as a highly dependable officer within the Nigeria Police Force, while assuring continued institutional support from the Fund.
CP Agbaminoja, in her response, described the donation as a historic and impactful intervention for the Ports Authority Police Command. She thanked LSSTF for the support, noting that the vehicle would significantly enhance patrol, surveillance, and rapid response across port facilities.
The donation to the Ports Authority Police Command capped a week-long series of strategic support interventions by LSSTF across multiple security and safety institutions in Lagos State.
Earlier in the week, the Fund also donated an operational vehicle to the Nigeria Police Mobile Force, MOPOL 49, received by the Commanding Officer, ACP Oladunni Ayoola, MFR. Additionally, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos, led by CSP Shola Jejeloye, received six operational vehicles to boost swift crime response and patrol coverage.
Further extending its collaborative security efforts, LSSTF donated vehicles to the Lagos State Safety Commission and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Lagos State, to strengthen safety enforcement, inspections, and community–police engagement.
Collectively, these interventions underscore LSSTF’s unwavering commitment to equipping security and safety agencies with essential logistics, deepening inter-agency collaboration, and ensuring a safer and more secure Lagos State for residents, businesses, and visitors.
